Mr. Trimarche’s practice focuses on environmental law and general commercial litigation. His environmental experience includes countless CERCLA cost recovery litigation matters (and “PRP group” processes), as well as regulatory compliance and enforcement actions under virtually every significant federal and California environmental statute, including but not limited to the federal Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act, CERCLA, RCRA, CEQA, Prop 65, and the California Water Code. He also has extensive experience in “Brownfield” transactions (the cleanup, redevelopment and transfer of environmentally-impaired properties), as well as the environmental aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions. He has served as the Chair of the Environmental Law Sections of both the California State Bar and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
In addition to environmental matters, his litigation experience includes technology and intellectual property matters, real estate, land use, business torts, insurance coverage, and a wide range of other commercial litigation matters, as well as white collar criminal defense. He has considerable trial experience in state and federal courts, as well as in administrative proceedings before local, state and federal governmental bodies. He also has represented city and county government agencies, redevelopment agencies, housing agencies, non-profit conservation entities, and other governmental and quasi-governmental entities.
Mr. Trimarche also has significant experience representing emerging companies in the renewable energy and clean technology (“cleantech”) industries, including but not limited to “smart grid” businesses, solar and wind power developers, biofuel companies, and alternative fuel vehicle manufacturers. Among other things, Mr. Trimarche has served as Chairperson of Cleantech OC, the cleantech trade association serving Orange County, California, from its founding in 2010 to present. He also has served on the Board of Directors of OCTANe, the fundraising and networking organization for Orange County’s technology industries, from 2011 to present.
