Mr. Richard Buck – Partner

Richard E. Buck has been primarily engaged in Insurance Defense during the course of his practice. His specialty area of practice includes complex construction defect litigation, representing developers and general contractors. Mr. Buck also has extensive class action defense experience in products liability matters and toxic tort/mold litigation.

Mr. Buck is one of the supervising partners of the construction defect litigation team. He joined the firm in 1995, having spent his previous 10 years of practice with a Newport Beach insurance defense law firm which specialized in medical malpractice, attorney malpractice, premises liability, vehicle liability and insurance bad faith/coverage.

Mr. Buck has served as an arbitrator for Riverside and Orange County Superior Courts and has served on the arbitration panel for the American Arbitration Association since 2002. He is a member of the Los Angeles County Superior Court Complex Court Litigation Panel and the Warren J. Ferguson American Inn of Court. Mr. Buck has been a speaker at Orange County Bar Association and Mealy’s seminars and has been an instructor/lecturer for California State University, Long Beach (extension courses for forensic experts).

Mr. Buck was born in Chillicothe, Missouri on September 27, 1955. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles and graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/International Relations. He received the degree of Juris Doctor from Washburn University in 1984 and is licensed to practice in California and Missouri.
