Mr. John H. Kim

John H. Kim practices within the firm’s creditors’ rights/bankruptcy group representing personal property creditors in both federal and state court actions. Mr. Kim’s duties include obtaining relief from the automatic stay, negotiating adequate protection orders, objecting to debtor’s plans, opposing motions to redeem, opposing claim objections, filing proof of claims, and preparing various motions and pleadings in order to protect secured creditors’ interests. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, Mr. Kim’s primary area of practice involved representing real property secured creditors in both bankruptcy and state litigation matters. In addition, Mr. Kim has experience in various collection activities, such as obtaining pre-judgment writs of possession and post-judgment levies. Mr. Kim received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine in 1997 and his juris doctorate from Whittier College of Law in 2001. During law school, Mr. Kim was awarded with the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Remedies and Professional Responsibility and was a recipient of the Merit Full Tuition Scholarship. He was also appointed as an Academic Success Program Leader during his second year in law school and was on the Honor Roll and Dean’s List. Mr. Kim is a member of the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum and is admitted to practice before the Central, Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of California.
