Mr. David R. Cooksey – Partner

David R. Cooksey has been principally engaged in Insurance Defense during the course of his career. However, his practice has ranged extensively to include Insurance Coverage, Bad Faith, Professional Errors and Omission, Construction Law, Premises Liability and Professional Liability. Mr. Cooksey was born in Des Moines, Iowa on October 1, 1946. He attended the University of California at Irvine from 1965 to 1969, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. In 1976, he received his degree of Juris Doctor at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. That same year, he commenced the practice of law with the firm, which had been founded in 1967 by his father, Paul Cooksey. Mr. Cooksey has served as Superior Court Judge Pro Tem and Arbitrator. His memberships include the Orange County Bar Association and the Association for Southern California Defense Counsel. He has participated in numerous appeals, the most notable of which is Nally v. Grace Community Church, (1988) 47 Cal.3d 278, 525, Cal.Rptr. 97, 763 Pacific 2d 948.
